Liverpool Advocates for Windrush

On-going Project

Action For Race Equality Grant

This grant is dedicated to bolstering advocacy efforts within Liverpool over a one-year period. Its primary function is to provide financial recompense to caseworkers and our support team, ensuring the efficacy and sustainability of our operations. Central to this initiative is to host 2-4 events, with the objective of guiding potential claimants through the Windrush Scheme(s) application process. The overarching aim is to foster a deeper understanding of the Schemes and offer robust support to the impacted individuals.

The World Reimagined - Legacy Grant

This grant, allocated for a six-month tenure, is instrumental in enhancing the quality of our services in Liverpool. Its core purpose is to support both our event management and direct assistance to potential claimants. A critical element of this grant is its support for essential research, focused on uncovering the reasons behind the limited participation of Liverpool residents in the Windrush Schemes and devising effective support strategies. Additionally, it facilitates the provision of five - three hours of complimentary counselling for claimants, addressing trauma-related issues. This funding is crucial for maintaining the vital functions of this Constituted Group, thereby significantly bolstering our service capabilities.
